As much as we don’t like to admit it, fall is clearly here. The leaves are falling and the days are getting shorter. When the days get colder, it’s always nice to reminisce about the fun memories of summer. This year, BCNPA had an opportunity to get involved in 34th annual Vancouver Pride Parade to celebrate NP’s support for the LGBTTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Two-Spirit and Queer) community. The theme this year was FABULOUS… and fabulous it was! We were lucky to have scorching, not-a-single-cloud-in-the-sky weather and over 600,000 spectators. We gave out hundreds and hundreds of BCNPA buttons, BCNPA tattoos, and pamphlets, in addition to a few hundred free condoms, which were well received! We also had a few fans in the crowd shout out “I see an NP! I love you guys!” The Vancouver Pride Parade was definitely a memorable event and BCNPA will be back for more.
Thanks to all those who participated including Stan Marchuk, Fiona Hutchison, Wendy Bowles, Gwyn McIntosh, Brenda Ingram, Angela Remocker, Lisa Kolkman, and Annaliese Hesler. We know that Pride Parade in 2013 will be bigger, better, and even more of a blast to participate in. Looking forward to seeing all of you there. Stay tuned!
