Evaluation of the Integration of Nurse Practitioners (NP) into BC Healthcare System

Esther Sangster-Gormley, PhD, RN and her research team recently completed the first report for the work on the Michael Smith funded research project Evaluation of the Integration of Nurse Practitioners into the BC HealthCare System. The research involves surveying Nurse Practitioners in BC about their patterns of practice, as little is known about the specifics of how NP are developing their practices. There are currently about 150 NPs practising in BC and another 190 positions opening up to NPs over the next three years. This research hopes to fill in some of the gaps in information about how NP work within our communities. The project continues until February 2014. Click the links below for details on findings so far.
